National Origin Discrimination

Discrimination against employees because of their national origin is prohibited by federal, state, and New York City law. 

This anti-discrimination protection covers both traditionally recognized nations and, in some cases, less rigidly defined nations and national sub-groups.

While this prohibition does not cover discrimination based on United States citizenship, it does cover instances where a citizenship requirements is being used as a pretext to exclude applicants from a particular nation.
